buy AES (American Education Services)?


That is who my student loans are through and I am getting paperwork on it, and they neediness interest.
Is this happening to anyone else?

My complication, based on my income, my student loan payments are about 22% of my take home pay.

I remember hearing that your payments can not outstrip a certain percentage of your take home pay. Is this true?

Put the fed loans into forbearance...I did it over the phone in less than 5 minutes. Um...why can't they ALL be like that?????? Take my advice, if you are a student or going back to school, go with Great Lakes for your loan needs. They are very cooperative. Do not go with American Education Services...they will harass you even when you ARE making payments and the phone calls/ snail mail never cease. Plus, they only like snail mail and faxing...you can't do SHIT online or over the phone. How dysfunctional is that?! Now I am off to go tanning and once again, fax the forms to AES (they told me through snail mail they all didn't go through and that information was missing....gee, that wouldn't happen if you let me fill shit out ONLINE!) I can't imagine how much paper they waste mailing in forms that simply say "We weren't able to process your request for forbearance for the following reason(s): Some forms were missing"...That's seriously ALL it said!!!!

Sallie Mae Selects Vangent as Subcontractor for Servicing Business

Vangent won its first contract funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as a subcontractor to Sallie Mae to provide operations, project management, software integration and testing services in support of the U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid Title IV Student Loan Management Servicing program.

Sallie Mae was one of four servicers (AES/PHEAA, Great Lakes and Nelnet were the others) recently awarded the Direct Lending contract to service FFELP loans sold to the Department as well as all new Direct Loans originated in 2010-11.  ACS, the current DL servicer, has filed three separate protests regarding the bidding process.
